Patrick Schwenk, the pastor of Refuge Church in Ann Arbor, joins us to share why he loves the church.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness , self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another."
Galatians 5:22-26
"Paul, an apostle— not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— and all the brothers who are with me,
To the churches of Galatia:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen." - Galatians 1:1-5
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." John 1:5
Job 5:8-11
As for me, I would seek God, and to God would I commit my cause, who does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number:he gives rain on the earth and sends waters on the fields; he sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.
Luke 2:12 - "And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger."
In an age dominated by myth, we look instead to be transformed by the parables of Jesus.
